XMLwriter is a professional validating XML editor for Windows.
XMLwriter validates XML documents against a DTD or Schema. The validating parser is 100% compatible with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5, so you can confidently design your XML documents with the intent of viewing them successfully on the Web. XMLwriter performs batch validation, which automatically presents the results of the validation in the Error View.
XMLwriter has a text editing interface, with the aid and convenience of real-time colour syntax highlighting of tags and keywords. All HTML 4.0 tags and attributes, all CSS 2.0 properties, and all XSL, XSLT tags and formatting objects (fo) are recognised. XMLwriter supports all text file types, including XML, XSL, DTD, HTML and CSS.
TagBar is a special feature that has been included in XMLwriter that loads and displays all of the elements defined in a Schema document. Using TagBar, you can easily drag and drop elements quickly and accurately into an XML document.
XMLwriter supports stylesheet (XSL) conversion of XML documents. Converted files can be viewed in the Output View. Batch stylesheet conversion is also available.
XMLwriter has an internal browser view you can use to preview your documents. You can also view XML documents in Tree View, which shows the document's structure in an expandable element tree format.
XMLwriter has been designed with project management as a key focus. Project View has been specifically designed to create, edit and view files contained within a project. Project files are displayed in the Project View as an expandable file tree.
XMLwriter has a light-weight command line tool which allows you to perform XML validation and XSL conversion from the command line or a batch file.
XMLwriter is written entirely in C++, which makes it a fast and efficient editor compared to existing Java-based editors. It is a 32-bit program, aimed for systems running on Windows 95/98/2000 and Windows NT4. XMLwriter uses the Windows 95 interface guidelines, so users can expect a familiar and intuitive interface.
